The code for the setting of urban road traffic signs and markings is a standard under preparation, which is jointly prepared by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and the Ministry of public security.

It is compiled according to the needs and characteristics of urban road traffic management, which makes up for the vacancy of the provisions on the setting of urban road traffic signs and markings in the "road traffic signs and markings". It is to supplement the setting requirements of some signs and markings in urban roads. For example, the use of Futian lane must have supporting facilities such as signals, signs and markings, while only markings are specified in road traffic signs and markings.
